This is a view of the main entrance to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the institution where I earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, and where I am presently working. The red structure to the left is the iconic sun dial – the symbol of the University – and to the right is the main building in which science laboratories are located.

This is a view of the Arts Quad at Cornell University (where I earned my doctorate). The buildings, trees, and pathways that occupt the Quad are among the oldest on the Cornell Campus.

In this night view, you can see Cornell University’s iconic McGraw Tower, with the clock whose chimes ring out the hours and half hours and provide regular musical programs heard across campus. In the foreground of McGraw Tower is Sage Chapel and to the right is the punch-card shaped Olin Library, where I spent many an hour working late into night!
